Good grief

I have gotten so much not-so-good grief about having a 7 month engagement.
It's almost funny really.
The average mormon engagement is 3-4 months, and the main reason they are so short is because typically, mormons wait until marriage to do "the deed." You have to be morally clean in order to be able to enter one of the LDS Temples (where Ryan and I have chosen to be married). Anywho, everyone gasps with unbelief when I tell them we're not getting married until March, a whole 3 months away.
"You have to wait that long???? You guys are just torturing yourselves!"
It cracks me up. And I always give maybe a not so nice comeback when people say that to me. I say,
"It's actually been really great for us."
I say that kind of to make them feel bad for making such a judgemental comment, but also because it's true. I'm sort of caddy that way. Forgive me. It just gets under my skin.
I'm trying to let it just roll off my back because, really, it has been great. We've had time to enjoy all the little details and while we're not perfect and our engagement hasn't been easy, it really is a fun time.
And instead of focusing on all that we "can't" do, we're try to focus on all that we "can."
But you better believe when March 9th rolls around, we're totally gunna make out in public like these guys:

Hilarious.
XOXO
PS) Waiting until marriage is the best decision we've ever made.

Black Friday

Here's what our Black Friday looked like:

$36
$6.88

$3

My Black Friday's used to consist of new boots, shirts, perfume, and movies.
Yet, there was something surprisingly rewarding about finding good deals for our future home.
I thought only middle aged women do that.
The best part?
Ryan can't stop talking about the great deal we got on our vacuum.
Success!

I have senioritis. Horribly.

Everything about anything involved with the words "Utah" "Utah County" "Provo" "Orem" "BYU" "Nursing" "Studying" "Homework" "Papers" " Tests" annoys the CRAP  out of me. It's not just that I'm sick of school. I'm literally annoyed by it. It turns me into a grumpy grandma. Seriously a serious grump.
Ugh.
Only 5 more months. But can I just say this? The nursing program runs my life. It owns me. And all I want to do is plan my wedding and be lazy with my fi fi (fiance). Is that too much to ask?
HAHA..I know I sound ridiculous. But it's my blog so just let me be ridiculous for a sec. I think I'm done now.

Oh and last week my fi fi and I were the chorister/pianist in sacrament meeting. It was a hoot and a half, I'll tell you that much. We have two autographed copies of the program from that day incase any of you are interested.

XOXO

Ok.
I have been horrible at blogging. But I feel like if I were to blog about my last two weeks, it would just be me whining and wondering why things get so complicated when you're engaged. So I didn't blog. You're welcome.

I'm trying to focus my attention on preparing myself for that place up there. My perspective on things have changed a lot and the way I look at Ryan has changed a lot too. It's seriously like I don't exist without him. Not in a needy way, like "Baby don't leaveeeeeeee meeee" but more like a "becomming one" sense. It's an awesome feeling. I'll keep him.

I'll also keep him because he offers to rub my feet
Sure do love him.
XOXO

Baby Turkey

I won't go into details, because that will probably be boring & depressing to you, but I will give you an example:
I got a big gulp diet coke and after 3 sips, I spilled the rest of it all over my books in class.
Can it get any worse than that?
I came home and cried my eyes out. I was like wailing, y'all.
[not just because I spilled a diet coke..although that is quite tragic]

But! Today was better.
I won't go into details, because that will probably be boring to you, but I will give you an example:

We won a free turkey at the grocery store!
We are pleased to introduce our newest addition to the Future Lawter family:
Baby Turkey.
Isn't he cuuuuuute? Just wook at his dewicious cheeks...and breast...and thighs...

XOXO
